Edward Rex

The tapestry opens on Edward the Confessor enthroned — snow-white beard, one finger raised — giving counsel to a kingdom that does not yet know it is only a prologue. Sylvaine sings his court in French across the Latin, the last calm before the needle draws blood.

The Overture

Baroque-pop and harpsichord, bright and ceremonial with an undertow you only catch on the second listen — a court that thinks it is the whole story.

Note

Panel one of a tapestry the losers embroidered. Everything after this is the winners' version, stitched by the hands that lost.
