TITAN
Nine artists, one element. A sampler built around titanium — the metal of implants and rockets, of things that outlast the body that carried them. Every track here treats the same obsession from a different corner of the label's imagination.
The Thread
Industrial yéyé from Sylvaine Éternelle. Titanium dark wave from Helle Raud. Dmitri Volkov's elemental darkwave and Natsuko Terada's rockabilly. Kevin Mayfield's symphonic ascent, the Moss Twins' exotica, Cassidy Diane's Northern Soul, Ann Francon's slide-guitar desolation, and Itzik Kagan's drag-punk clang.
The Device
Meant to be heard on a Sony PS-F9 — the flamingo that stands the record up on its edge and reads it with linear tracking. The device is the interface; the notes are the sleeve.
Titanium remembers the shape it was bent into. So does a good sampler.
